From aromatic garden herbs, to vibrant tropical flowers and juicy fresh fruit, river rocks, and sculptural driftwood, Cogan draws upon natural elements to create visual haiku. “I find inspiration in the world around me,” she explains. “The mountains, vineyards, and seashore infuse my creative process with fresh ideas and unique materials.”

The seeds of this creative talent were nurtured by her family’s love of gardening and time spent in her mother’s native Hawaii (where her grandparents grew papayas, avocados, and anthurium flowers). A passion flower vine growing in her school yard sparked her imagination as a child. In 2002 Cogan began creating centerpieces for a local caterer and discovered her enjoyment of the process and design ability. When other event planners began approaching her for floral arrangements, she began Passion Flowers.
